Meet Clara
Clara Yang doesn’t sell homes. She designs lives.
For more than thirty years, Clara Yang has been one of the most trusted luxury real estate brokers on Los Angeles’s Westside — specializing in Santa Monica, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades, and Malibu. But her approach has never been transactional. It has always been relational.
Before showing a single property, Clara listens. She asks about your family, your daily rhythms, your ten-year vision. She tunes into the energy of who you are — and the energy of every home she considers for you. It sounds intuitive because it is. It also happens to produce extraordinary results.
In an age of Zillow and Redfin, Clara believes the realtor’s most important job is not to find you a home — it’s to tell you what not to buy. Thirty years of walking these streets, reading these markets, and closing complex international transactions gives her an instinct no algorithm can replicate.
Clara serves two kinds of clients. The first are families planting roots — buyers who want a home that fits their life beautifully for the next decade while their children grow. The second are investors seeking maximum ROI, thoughtfully woven into a whole-life financial plan. For both, Clara functions less like a broker and more like a curator — designing the best use of your resources with an artist’s eye and a strategist’s mind.
She is one of the very few luxury brokers on the Westside who is also a fine artist — working in watercolor and Chinese ink, with large-scale paintings commissioned by her own clients and displayed throughout their homes. Beauty is not incidental to her work. It is the work.
As a Certified International Property Specialist, Clara has spent decades bridging cultures across the Pacific. She understands not just language but nuance — how money moves across borders, how loan documents get signed at a US embassy in Dubai, how trust is built with a buyer in Hong Kong who has never set foot in the property they are purchasing. This is knowledge that cannot be learned in a weekend course. It is earned across thirty years of doing the work.
Clara approaches negotiation the way she approaches everything — by asking the question no one else thinks to ask. Early in her career, she sat across from a seller who wanted $2 million. Her buyer’s offer was $1.5 million. Instead of defending the number, Clara asked: “Besides the price, is there anything else that would make you feel whole about this sale?” The seller was so moved by the question that he asked her to tell him everything about her buyer. The deal was made — not on dollars, but on human connection. This is Clara’s negotiating philosophy: the person across the table is never an adversary. They are someone with needs, hopes, and a story. Find that story and everyone wins.
Clara holds a Master’s degree in Positive Psychology and has studied with two of the world’s foremost teachers in human flourishing — Dr. Jean Houston, advisor to the United Nations and collaborator of Joseph Campbell, and Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar, former Harvard professor and founder of the Happiness Studies Academy. She brings this philosophy into every client relationship: that a home, chosen well, is one of the most powerful vessels for a happy life.
She is based in Santa Monica, with her heart equally rooted in Hong Kong. She speaks English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, and Indonesian — and works with international clients across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
“I want to bring light to the people around me and to every home I am trusted to represent. That is my focus. That has always been my focus.”
